Poetry in a Time of Crisis – with Karen Solie & Kathleen Jamie

This workshop will discuss some recent poems by contemporary poets, including Karen Solie and Kathleen Jamie themselves, that address environmental precarity and the climate crisis. We are especially interested in place and locale. What can poetry do, if anything? Can poetry bear witness? We’ll have a group conversation and offer a couple of generative writing experiments that might suggest new work and ways forward for our practice and our communities.
